Blank Avatar Per Skin
This modification will override the default IPB behaviour of using a single "blank avatar" image in the style_avatars folder to instead use one out of your currently selected skin's folder. The advantage to this hook is that you don't need to use dodgy PHP code in your templates.
To use, simply enable on your forum and add a file named "noavatar.png" to your skin folders. IPB will then use your new "noavatar.png" image in place of its own.
If you would rather use a .gif or .jpg image, you can override the file name by adding a new setting called "hookBlankAvatarImageName". This will override for all skins so make sure the file exists for all of them.
Distribution Notice
The usual restrictions on distribution do not apply. If you would like to distribute this hook with a skin, feel free to do so. You don't have to, but we'd love for you to let us know if you do distribute this hook with anything just so we know how well it's being received.

Hi im new to IP boards and I need a little help. I'm not sure how to upload an image to your currently selected skin's folder. I installed the hook just fine but im not sure how to get the image working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi sekkusu, provided you have FTP access, it's actually fairly easy.
To upload the "blank avatar" image, FTP to your web hosting server, and browse to your IPB folder. Under that, browse down to "public/style_images". There will be a folder for each skin you currently have installed. Just upload your new avatar image into the skin image folder you want, and call it "noavatar.png".
Does that make sense?
