Hello Mat,

I've watched the introductory video and it is still not clear to me if I can reorder the standard primary navigation tabs. I need the following:

  • Home page will point to IP.Content - need to rename tab Pages and make it first one
  • Add my custom tabs (perhaps with submenus) pointing to IP.Content pages or elsewhere. Here it's important to know if I can set tab url to point to a specific page/article in IP.Content or only to the application root.
  • If my tabs number will grow I may want to put some of them to a "More..." submenu

I'm going to use Fusion Menu at http://sencha-addons.com site (powered by IPB 3.1.4) where I use slightly modified templates and heavily modified css. I'm a web dev pro so there shouldn't be a problem, nevertheless, if you see any possible compatibility issues or things I should be careful of when styling my site please let me know.

I can't see any problem, personally. The one caveat is that at present, when you enable primary nav management it will either add to the end of it (i.e. will not allow you to re-order existing ones) or it will replace it entirely (meaning you have to add all tabs you want). In the second scenario, it works like you'd expect. You get a blank slate on which you add menu items, and can manage them however you like - if the tab you add is an "app link" tab, then it will also track the active status for you and it will act like the default (the primary nav here is managed entirely using our product - the IPS nav is disabled).

So you say: I disable primary navigation (the original IPS nav), then I configure my tabs myself and I'm done? I'm still talking about primary navigation tabs not the top site menu - I'm not interested in that.

Precisely, yes. That's exactly how it works.

Best...
