Ventrilo Status Hook

This hook will display the status of any Ventrilo or Teamspeak server hosted at Typefrag.com, NationVoice.com or utilising the GameTracker.com platform (such as GameSpeak.com).

Technically, the hook could possibly also display the status of an actual game server (such as Call of Duty) if you feed the correct parameters into the GameTracker section. We haven't tested this though.

Please note the following gotchas:

• The Typefrag script still doesn't support passing in the width, so you will need to set the correct width at the Typefrag website when generating your style ID
• The full set of GameTracker themes is not supported at this time. We hope to add in a few more of these over time. At this time, Red and Gray are supported.

I am totally clueless as to what I need to do to get this working on my forums

I use Nationvoice, if that helps? I can import the hook, but all it shows is a box that says "Ventrilo Status" on the right side, over the Recently Added Topics section. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you configured it yet? It won't do anything until you do, as it doesn't know anything about your server yet. Just perform the following steps:

• Browse to your IP.Board ACP
• Select "System Settings" from the menu on the left of the page
• Navigate to the "Hooks" tab
• Select the option for the Ventrilo Status
• Set options according to your Ventrilo server's configuration

That did it (so embarrassing)! Is there any way to not have it show the big Nationvoice banner and border? Their sizing is massive, I'd love to have it much thinner, they have a lot of useless spacing all over the place...


One other issue is that it shows the comment field even when I tell it not to... [edit: fixed this, the code near the bottom is missing an s, up top it looks for nv_something_comments and below it was done as nv_something_comment . I added an s below and it's working now]

Also, is there a way to have this show up in the IPB.Portal?

I'm afraid we can't remove the NationVoice branding - we simply pass appropriate parameters to the status script hosted by them, so we can't change the output (yet).

I'll get back to you on the portal thing.

just installed this on my board and have a server from typefrag but i cant see any of the fields it asks for in the cp panel for this hook?

Typefrag IDThe ID you obtained from Typefrag for your server (will look like TF-1234576). You can find it in the third line of the provided code, in the form "div id='TF-1234567'"

Style IDThe ID of the style that Typefrag generated is also needed. This is a large string made of letters, dashes and numbers, and can be found in the first line of the generated code, in the form "Style.aspx?ID=%code%"

It seems Typefrag have changed their format. I'll get an update done to fix that as soon as we're able.

Nationvoice is my host, all settings are verified, but I just get a blank box
